Seems like just yesterday we were headed to Jersey to visit my daughter and new son-in-law. That was apparently 3 weeks ago. Geesh!
I wanted to get in a few more weekend trips so it wouldn't interfere with the son's reading program M-Th. So last weekend we hit Charleston, the weekend before that we did a few local things, bust still moments to remember.
Father's Day came and went. My friend Cindy went back to NJ to get her daughter and drove back this past Monday. The days fly by. I really need to stop saying yes to everyone every time they ask if I can water their plants, wait for their cable guy, feed their dog and watch their house. Sigh. The life of an energetic retiree.
Oh - and this past week I helped a friend dig up 5 bushes and replant them at my house, and my neighbors (because her yard looks bare compared to mine). Then I helped design her landscaping and put her 'guy' in charge of the grunt work. Yesterday I attempted to power-wash her house (I was already there waiting on her cable guy). The power-washing was a fail. Water kept spewing out of the wand and I was soaking wet within 2 minutes of the hose being turned on. Really though, no complaints. It was 93 degrees. So yeah.....felt good.
Luckily the boy has a week off from the Summer Reading Program so maybe we'll go somewhere for more than a day or two. We'll see. Somewhere may end up being one of our favorite local bars trying new beers. But eh... its something.
