Must. Be. Strong.
Ok - adding on from my last entry a bit.
This morning, no wait...last night. Neighbor, Mandy (aka The Hot Mess), text to ask if I could run over to her house and get her boy's ADHD meds and give it to him tomorrow morning. She was out of town and she forgot to give them to her dad. Her dad who would have him at the bus stop in the morning. She is very lucky to have a family member who helps her out on a whim all the time.
Yeah. Sure. No problem. I will help her if she actually asks for help.
Of course I asked her where the meds were. I also told her I was already in bed and would just go grab one first thing in the morning. She told me they were in the cupboard above the wine cooler. Easy enough.
Then within minutes a few more texts came through. 'Oh shit...Can you grab him some shoes too...and a coat....he needs his red school folder and can you grab his gi for Dojo? He's going to need that for his after-school program'?
Uh....sure. Did you send your kid off to his pop-pop's house naked? I asked if she had to leave town quickly for work or something (since she clearly didn't think ahead).
Nope. Booty call with loser guy who lives an hour away. Ugh.
So of course I say yes to getting all the stuff, but I'm still in bed and I'll just grab it in the morning.
Riiiiiiight.....
I'll sum this up. It took me 30 minutes just to find his damn pills. Which, as you can imagine, were NOT in the cupboard. They were lying on her couch almost wrapped up by a blanket.
Ok, I lied. I cannot just sum it up. Her house was totally trashed! Clothes everywhere. Dirty dishes sitting on the stove and piled high in the sink. Dishwasher full. Not a single space on her counters or table cleared off. I have no clue where they would even eat their meals?! Oh....maybe the bedroom. Likely, because when I went up to find the dojo thingy I had to rummage through pile after pile of dirty clothes on the floors. I couldn't help but notice both her nightstands were covered with dirty dishes. And the only coat I could find for him had a broken zipper. *sigh*
Ok. Breathe.....in....out.....
So, in an effort to stick to my goal and not help her out with all the cleaning, I knew I had to stay focused. Believe me, I gave myself this pep talk before I even went over to her house. After I finally found all the items, I got the fuck out! Fast!
Yes, the condition of her home is still nagging at me, but I will fight this. I must.
I mean WOW. Just WOW! All of her Christmas decorations are still up too. Ugh. It's killing me..... LOL, I have issues.
I will definitely need a distraction today.
