So it was my first night in the townhouse. It was very odd...I was so completely restless. I did everything I could do as far as unpacking and putting things away. I still have no living room furniture. I had tried to watch TV for as long as I could and then I read, but before I knew it it was past midnight and I was still wide awake. What to do what to do....
One of my friends suggested I get a box fan to cover the noise of the outside at night. Good idea since that was part of my problem, being a little warm, yet not warm enough to turn on central air. And then trying to identify what all the noises were from outside since they are completely new to me.
Still - waking up was nice. It was nice not seeing Mr. Miserable first thing in the morning. Stress-free environemnt. Nobody but myself to get ready for work. Nobody screaming they can't find a shoe, they want ice cream for breakfast OR mom did you sign this.
But that'll change next week since its my week with my girls. I'm going to be missing them when they aren't with me. AND I'm sooo looking forward to getting them this Friday. I think we'll have fun. John is supposed to go out of town with friends and I was hoping to rent some movies and make pizzas..or order in. Rachel has a soccer game this Saturday too.
I may go stay out with my girlfriend Lori tonight. I didn't want to miss the last episode of Rescue Me tonight because my cable doesn't get turned on till Thursday. Its also the season premnier of House. which I may miss compeltely. I can always catch RM in encore presentation this Friday though if she decides to do something else tonight. I get about four stations on my TV without cable....not bad.
John has been getting on my case about letting people know about the divorce. Like I'm supposed to take out a full-page add or something. Good Lord.
Yesterday he saw Karen of my old office and she was very nice to him - I told him that she knew about us, he said he figured since any other time she pretty much doesn't even say hi.
Rod told me that she was mentioning it back to others that she felt sorry for what poor John was going through. So that I should know that more people know there than I realize. Which is good.
And then today, just now in fact, one of my old co-workers stopped by. Brion - a fun guy. He's always a good laugh. I had to let him know what was going on with John and I. He was shocked. I'm surprised he didn't know. And I don't think he was acting. See... when you are this happy all the time you fool everyone around you into thinking you have a perfect life. These people have to understand that when my life at home was so horrible - work was my happy place and that's the me they got to see.
Well my lunch is just about over now - time to get back to work...boohoo.
