6 More Weeks to go!!
Friday Sam and I were at the doctor's office. It was the first time we actually met with an actual doctor. Till now it's been nothing but nurses till now. Not that I mind.
This doctor, Dr. Long asked if we had any questions and I ask if they'll schedule me for c-section if I don't go on my due date. He said they wouldn't do that till I was 42 weeks. HUH? I was told up to this point they wouldn't let me go that far along because I'm nearing 40 and your placenta can stop working.
He said they would monitor the baby and placenta, but wasn't too worried about be going past my due date. EEeeeek. This means I can potentially have the baby September 14th or 21st even... Good GOD!
I'm still hoping for a miracle and that he decides to come sooner. :)
Then Friday during work right after staff meeting, they threw a surprise shower for me. It was really nice of them to do even though two of the people involved are two I would avoid at any cost. And to smile and say thanks to them was even harder than I could imagine. But the gifts were really nice and Sam, the girls and I had fun looking at them all over again once we got home that evening.
Friday night we took the girls and a couple of extra to the drive-ins to see the new Simpson's movie and Harry Potter. They were really good movies, but the night got late very quickly. We didn't get home till around 12:30 and we didn't even stay for all of Harry Potter. I couldn't stay awake and the week had me tired.
Saturday I got up early and did some grocery shopping. My aunt called to let me know she bought two Coach purses for Rachel. Saturday we drove to Campbelltown for a surprise retirement party for Tom Bachman. He was certainly surprised. It was a very nice party too - held a church campground. They had a TON of food and lots of things for Sarah to do. Rachel was bored at times, but was content hanging out and chatting towards the end. Tom's daughter 16 years old and Phred's step-daughter Sam was there and only a couple years older than Rachel, so we had fun talking with both of them. Again - we got home pretty late.
Sunday I woke up early again and cleaned the house for a bit. Mostly putting things away and sorting out the papers that accumulate in the mail holder.
We talked about going to Jersey to pick up the purses and go to the beach for a couple of hours, but it stormed ALL night. Huge bolts of lightening and loud thunder. I figured the beach was out of the question. I checked the weather when we got up and sure enough the forecast was the same in Freehold as it was in Enola. So figuring the beach was out for the day I didn't bother waking anyone else up early to head out to Jersey like we planned.
Around 10:00 Sarah finally woke up. The clouds starting clearing up and the sun came out. Then Sam and Rachel finally woke up about 11am. I told them I still wanted to go to Jersey to visit even if it was only for a couple of hours. So we packed ourselves up and drove up to Jersey. An hour before we left I called my aunt and she said they hadn't received any rain, thunderstorms or anything. An hour later while we were on our way she called back and said the storms were hitting them hard, lol.
We got there around 2:30 and sure enough the storms had subsided for a little bit, but it was still cloudy and sprinkling. By the time we left around 5:00 it was actually getting sunny.
Just as we were pulling out of her development our Check Tires light came on. Sam pulled off at a gas station and put air in the tires. We were able to re-set the error message but the "problem" light stayed on. Knowing we had enough air in the tires we headed home.
About an hour down the turnpike back into PA we hit a WHOLE NEW SET OF THUNDERSTORMS!!! Agggghhhh. It was actually very scary for me. Lighting was crashing down in all directions. Front, back, both sides. I was so worried it would hit a tree and it would crush us as we were driving along. People were pulled off the road left and right. Traffic was mostly going between 25-35MPH - then a few idiots would speed by.
Sometime around 10pm we finally got home. Just as I stepped out onto the driveway I heard this 'psssssssss' sound. Sure enough the back tire was starting to go completely flat. So weird. I totally felt like an angel was looking over us all the way home for that to wait and happen in our very own driveway.
Sam and I then spent the time replacing the tire with the spare. In the rain.
LOL - some of our most memorable moments happened in the rain. So it was definitely worth mentioning this one too. I have to laugh as I think about it all now. :D
I do remember thinking a few times last night as we drove down the turnpike and back to PA that I felt completely comforted knowing we were with him and he's such a good driver.
Today - being Monday and back to work, I'm sooooo tired. So is Sam. After changing the tire he then had to stay up to 1:30 making sure the dog had some of her energy worked out of her. If not she'll start barking at 3 or 4am and I'm the one who answers that call, so yeah...he tries to stay up late with her to keep her asleep till we are ready to wake up.
The only problem with that is I feel bad knowing he works late Mondays and Tuesdays for his friend John. He usually doesn't even get home till 2am those nights. Then he drags himself everywhere the rest of the week. It's been about 5 weeks since he's been doing this and I'm almost ready to tell him he should stop now. I know he wanted to gain a little extra income to pay off furniture without dipping into savings, but this is nuts to see him so run down. I'm sure it doesn't hurt that he TOTALLY enjoys doing this work too. Its lots of coding - something he's very good at and probably much like playing a game or solving a puzzle.
I only know that he'll stop the work once the baby comes and I need to just accept that he still wants to do this.
Now I just need to work on getting the girls to STOP spending so much money. I'm aware they are getting more and more spoiled every day. Yeah - life doesn't suck for them. But nothing gives me pleasure as knowing we can provide things for them like this, so it makes it all worth working for. :)
Okay - my lunch time is coming near end - time to wrap up.
