We just had a 4-day weekend. With MLK Day Monday and the Inauguration Day of the new PA Governor, I had off. Luckily my friend Bobbie was able to come up from WV to paint for us. She did the living room, kitchen, hallway, downstairs foyer and up the stairs into the upstairs vestibule. Everything was painted taffeta wheat, I think its called. It all looks off-white if you ask me. But....it also looks bright and clean and that's all that really matters.
Yesterday evening I was searching on-line for bathroom images trying to decide what to paint the kids' bathroom. Not gonna lie....it stressed me out! After I went to work and spoke to Erika, she said something perfectly sensible. Why stress...just paint it the same color as everything else and let the new owners decide. LOL - sad to say but that actually just makes sense. Painting it this off white will give it a really fresh clean look that new owners will be able to see their own touches on it. Nice.
So after I get that bathroom painted, I may go ahead and call a realtor. Ideally, I'd like to get Rachel's old room re-painted into a neutral color and repaint the basement walls, but really at this time, it probably just isn't all that necessary.
What IS necessary is cleaning out that basement! IT's still in a state of disarray. And we will undoubtedly be down-sizing when we move! The good news is, our friend Todd came over to put the safety switch back onto the furnace, so everything really is ready to go at this point.
Oh, wait, there's that job thing Sam wants to secure before we should list or consider moving. LOL. Ummm....yeeeaaah. He had a phone interview on Tuesday (yesterday) and it turned out to be a bit of a bust. He was put in contact with someone who likely will end up working for Sam some day. Not sure how that happened, but now we are hoping he hears back from the IT CIO there so he can see what jobs are available for him. Speaking to this guy Rod, wasn't the answer. Unfortunately, the phone call left Sam feeling a little 'down and out'. I think he was really looking forward to walking back into his office and telling them he's leaving in 2 weeks.
Although I'm sure there is nothing stopping him from still doing that, but he would have felt slightly better about that action if he had an actual interview under his belt. Oh well...it will happen. That I'm sure of.
Other than that, I've been dieting, losing weight very s-l-o-w-l-y and working like a crazy woman trying to get the house ready. All while attempting to keep my son entertained. I am SUPER WOMAN!!! Not just anyone can do it! - That's right... I just patted myself on the back. Go me!!
Later.
